Yippee, we had our first ever success at breakfast, while on holiday, coffee just as we like it, cooked breakfast ok but we gave the smoked peppered herring a wide berth. Rose did sample the museli which seemed to grow in her mouth and was really only fit for the birds - she won't fall for that one again.

Got togged up in 3 layers of clothes ready to explore the local town , as it's a sunny, crisp minus 16 today, found the local church and lit some candles for our loved ones. Then walked to the harbour and took in the panoramic vista, noticed why they say that if you fall in the water you're gonna die cos it had thick ice floating on it. Then our mature attitude came into it's own and we found big snow drifts and made snow angels - who says we are always childish, ok maybe they are right.

Watched a lady go passed us on a snow trolley and we decided that we wanted one, we would go shopping everyday if we had one. Headed for the supermarket and to our great joy found an unattended one outside so had to have a go, luckily the lady owner when she came out found the funny side of us whizzing up and down the main square on hers and seemed only too pleased to let us have another go - now that is care in the community.

Went inside for some provisions, as we have begged a kettle and they have given us some cups from reception, and noticed that they did hot meals - cheese and ham pasta and rudolph stew, so decided that was lunch taken care of, lunch of course had to be washed down with the champagne and then praline chocolates for desert.

Whilst in reception noticed a few excursions and we have now booked a night trip to see the Northern Lights tonight, so will let you know how it goes.

Going to have a little siesta this afternoon to sleep off the meal - ok maybe the drink as well.
