So after a delayed flight leaving Brisbane because of a catering truck being stuck on our plane, we took off for Auckland and then from Auckland to Vancouver. long and rather uncomfortable flight, arrived in CANADA!!! had to wade through a massive line of young people who were all doing working holidays in customs and picked up my bags and waited for the bus to the hostel. met cat and duncan two kiwi staying at the same hostel and checked into samesun along with half the flight!! after dumping our stuff and meeting up with two other kiwis travelling together harriet and charlotte we took a walk down town and to stanley park. saw a squirrel on the way and he was really friendly but just wouldnt stay still for a photo. after making our way back to the city centre it was almost dark and it only 4pm. so off to the backpackers bar it was. had dinner and a few drinks down there met a pretty cool american called joe from arizona that proceeded to tell us that everything down there is deadly -plants, animals and the heat. but nevertheless they have 'awesome pool parties' visited the local liquor store and seven eleven and am overwhelmed with the amount of homeless ppl /crazy ppl that kick over bins or try to take ur beer off u.
