Rosa in Italia
hello everyone
how are you? what have you been up to? Ok well today is the 3rd of April, so i am officially an adult and I've spoken to lots of you in the last few days and got lots of emails saying happy birthday...so thankyou!
What news do i have? Saturday i went to Bologna with Bridget and we met up with another aussie girl who travelled with us and who is being hosted in Bologna, Natalie. We had a good day shopping and eating gelato and speaking english.Bridget and Natalie hadnt studied Italian before they came and so dont speak it really at all yet so they were happy that i could do the talking in shops. But we had a fun day. anyway then Bridget came back here for the night. Yesterday afternoon i had a little party here at home with some people from school and Bridget. It was funny. We watched a movie and danced and yeah...then we got pizza and then we ate my masterpieces- i made a pavlova and it was delicious and, as Bridget and i agreed, it reminded us soooo much of home. I also made 2 enormous tiramisu which were yummy.
Anyway, it was fun, i had fun and the fact that everything is in italian worries me less and less as time goes on. Bridget on the other hand, and Natalie, the poor things.....I dont know how're theyÂ're managing because they dont understand...and its soo hard to be sociable if you dont understand. Other than that its just been school. Theres seems to be a rash of birthdays at the moment, last weekend was Alessandras birthday and thursday was Giovanni's. On friday we're going to Egypt for a week, because we have holidays for Easter so I'm excited about that and i will send photos and stuff. Oh and tonight we had dinner with my host mothers family for my birthday. Oh also last week Michele was playing in a tennis tournament in Padova. he lost in the 2nd round but the 2nd game was very exciting and i briefly saw Padova before the first game. It seems like a cool place with a crazily big church that we went into. Last week I also ate my first Italo-Chinese food. We went to a Chinese restaurant in Cerea. It actually wasnt as bad as i expected, although we ate alot more rice and noodles than we would at home because thats just what they're used to i spose.
Anyway, i didnt really have much news, just wanted to say hello and publicise the fact that I've made it to 18 (albeit minus the mega party and drunken club-crawl)...
lots of love, missing you all
