So, I am going to try to squeeze three weeks of Rome into one entry, excuse me if it is too brief, or not enough for you. If not, then screw you, I tried.
So, our arrival in Rome was marked by one of the best experiences that I have had since I've been here, staying at the Hotel Lodi, where the staff and guests were absolutely amazing! We ended up only exploring a little bit of Rome and spending most of our time sitting in the garden at the Lodi hanging out and talking with Fabriccio and Ali because they were totally amazing! all in all a great place to stay and definitely sit in the garden when you are there, you will meet the most amazing people!
After the amazing stay in the Lodi, we (finally) arrived at the Rome Center, where Alex immediately had to do laundry, because our luggage had not arrived yet, and he was out of clothes. That was great, also having to start out by paying about a million dollars in fees and s***. After the first night (in which there definitely was heavy drinking..) we all went out to Ostia antica, the most well preserved ancient Roman city, and then off to a hotel for our orientation weekend. We had some good food, and good company, then the next day we went to the beach for a fun-filled day of sitting in the sun and swimming in the Meditereanean, which was SUPER salty! and absolutly beautiful.
The next week was the first week of school, and was followed by most of the people in school going to Ischia, which is a small island near Napoli (naples) with beautiful beaches and fun in the sun. I stayed in Rome, and went out on Friday night with a few people to what we thought was going to be a really cool gay bar/club, but was actually a transvestite pub full of hella craziness. I don't think it's appropriate for this blog. saturday night, we went to an awesome club, with three levels of patio seating and a kick-ass thrid floor dance floor where they played a really good mixture of techno and hip-hop music. I was very pleased that it wasn't all techno.
Last week was just yet another fun-filled week. Classes on Wednesday were cancelled for the papal audience, which I have already written about. This past weekend, I didn't really do much, just sat around and hung out with my friends.
Next weekend: LONDON, (again) but this time to see Peter and then London.
