Arrived in Jaiselmer (Indian Desert) yesterday after travelling on the overnight train from Delhi; on arriving it was like stepping into a fairytale, or a scene from Arabian nights.  Our hotel is set right inside the walls of the Fort, high on a hill overlooking the town below.  The rooms are incredible, with king size beds and bright colourful furnishings, straight out of a pageant.  Last night we had dinner on the rooftop terrace, seranaded by an old Indian gentleman, on an old Indian instrument, like a zittar - which made a beautiful sound, it was just magic;  Tomorrow we head off for a camel safari and a night under the stars.
