Wow so it has been really hectic for us both, we barley sleep two nights in one town! Suppose thats why its called travelling!!
Since the last update we have been to see the terracota warriors, they were good to see but once you have seen one youve kind of seen them all! After we went for a really long walk around xi'an to see the small and large goose pagodas which are tall chinese buildings maybe like temples! Anyway they are very pretty to look at! That day we also got our names wrote in chinese on a scroll its quite funky, it will be nice on a living room wall one day!
The next day was just full of travelling on buses then another overnight train to Shanghai. We went to watch the shanghai acrobats which was excellent, didnt realise people could bend like that without breaking! Shanghai has some of the coolest sky scrapers we went up the tallest hotel in the world which is 88 floors and strange but true posted Grannie a post card at the top! What a place for a post box, and the buildings look even more stunning at night with their lights! However we werent all that impressed with the city its just like any other chinese city SMELLY!
So then off we went back to the country yet another overnight train to Guillin, this was the longest train all 26 hours of it!!!ahhhh! but we survived enough to get of the train and on to a bus for 2hours. It was well worth it when we arrived in a small town called yangshuo, it was stunning the scenery was spectacular, and we went on a night boat to watch cormorant fishing which was pretty cool and we went back to the same river the next day to do some relaxing and it was soooo pretty!
Then... off we went a little further into the country on a bike ride to the next guest house, one of the bike rides was to a hill called moon hill which was a killer to walk up but the views were good!
Another day on buses and we arrived the bottom of the longi rice terraces with another hill to hike, off we went and enjoyed some more views at our home stay night which was basically sleepin in one of the villagers houses, which was closely followed by another hike over to the next valley of rice fields it was all very worth it to see how the minority groups live and seeing those sights!
And another overnight train to Shenzhen which was our last night with the hole group as we were to split the next morning, we decided not to go to Hong Kong because we didnt realise we needed double entry visas for China, but when we met the people who were carryng on with our trip back at Shenzhen they said we didnt miss much and they were there less than 24 hours anyway, which just gave us enough time to catch up on laundry!uhh
We are now in Kaili which is in the South of China and getting prepared for some more big hikes through rice terraces for 9 days when we should arrive in Hanoi!
Hope everyone is well
