OK, so the blog entries have been thin on the ground for a while, but as soon as I got home I went on a long weekend Judo course and then did work experience at the Northcott Theatre then rested for a while and got back into home life, so alas blogging was not on the agenda.
Anyway - I was unable to find much in the way of computer resources in Singapore and Hong Kong so I will write about it now.
Singapore is unbearably humid! Being pinned on the equator means that it is always hot, but it is often not sunny, just muggy and when it rains it POURS. This was the most drastic weather change I experienced on the whole trip.
I was extremely tired when I arrived at something like 5am so I found an arrivals lounge. Singapore Airport is the best I've been to, this arrivals lounge is part of the reason why.I got a three hour nap in a proper bed in a cubicle and then a shower all for about $35 (roughly £12.50) which - trust me - was an absolute godsend.
I found my hostel and it was really more like a hotel and only cost about £4 a night! I walked into Little India which was very nearby and had a curry (unfortunately much spicier than I had expected!) I had a quiet day and rested for most of it.
The next day I wandered around Singapore. This was not neccessarily such a good idea because I got tired very quickly because of the heat. Perhaps I should have got a bus instead. I had a look around Raffles Hotel and then I went to the Singapore History Museum which was fantastic and then back to Raffles in the afternoon for my Singapore Sling cocktail in the Long Bar. I had a walk up and down Orchard Road and then headed back to the hostel to go out to the Night Safari with a couple of girls I got chatting to earlier. The night safari was amazing and quite unlike anything Zoo-ish I have seen before.
The next day I was off early to the airport and flying on to Hong Kong. Two days was not nearly enough to see Singapore but I got a good taste of it!
