Hello All.

Well we arrived this morning after a long (and confussing) flight.??We werent told that the plane first landed at Sao Paulo so you can imagine our surprise when we did!? All was well though and within the hour we were back in the air (for all of 20 minutes) and arrived at Rio.?

Damn?was is hot, 29oC by 11.30am!? After a long taxi ride to our hostel?we dumped our bags, got talking to?another couple that was on our flight?and?went to check out some of the sights.? We jumped on a bus and kept our eyes peels for?a beach (and thieving toe rags!).??We spotted sand through the buildings and jumped off?to discover the famous?Copacobanna Beach.? It?s an amazing site to see this beautiful beach stuck?on the skirts?of a bus crazy city surrounded by mountins.? Was slightly disapointed though to find no Brazilian stunners, just old men in thongs and lucky lucky men trying to sell us all kind of crap every 5 minutes!? I nearly came away with prawns on a stick, 6 football shirts, a coconut and a plastic statue of Jesus.? We did however buy an ice cold beer even though it was 10.30am.?(purely to get rid of the lucky lucky man)??

After chilling on the beach we walked 5 minutes to the town area of Copa and into the hustle and bustle of Brazilian life.? The roads are crazy as are the people.? Highlight was the?dentist van on the side of the road we saw with a chalk board for prices.??He was offering root treatment, fillings,?tooth pullings.... and tooth gems!? If only he had a blue one!? We stopped off for something to eat (pizza) and tried to find our?way back.? We walked for about 40 minutes?but Leannes legs were tiring so we gave up and got a taxi (we were walking in the right direction)!

We got back to the hostel and chilled for?a few hours before hitting our area of town (Botafogo) for a beer and more food.? Managed to scrap by with a few mangled words in Portugese?and spanish.

Anyway, Ive 5 minutes left on the clock?so got to fly.? We will load pictures soon as we?ve taken some and will update again?soon.??
