Hi Folks New instalment, and some new news! Cant remember when I last emailed everyone, so sorry if iam repeating myself! So for the past few weeks ive been traveling up from singapore with Mr Phil, my uni chum. First we shot up to KL (Kuala Lumpa) for a few days, stopping off a the petronas Towers, formally the tallest building in the world, until some b***** in Taipai built one bigger!, but bloody impressive all the same!, you get neck ache looking up, and you need to stand a few blocks away to take a picture there soo big! We didnt stay particullly long as the city is pretty smoggy and horible, so we booked ourselves on an overnight train up to the south of Thailand, very cool, ya get a nice bed and everything all for about a tenner! before heading over to Ko Phi Phi, a fantastic island were they filmed "the beach". Did a few crazy things like cliff jumping, basiaclly as it sounds, jumping off a 10meter cliff into the lovely blue water. (Check out the web site for pickys!) Also I managed to make a monkey go crazy! big teeth you know!!, you what! ; ) yeah theres loads on the island, and you can feed them, but the big ones get kinda upset when you decide to feed the little cute ones rather than them! Next we headed on to Ko Samui, which I went to four years ago, but has changed a fair bit for the worse, its extremely touristy now, and ya cant walk down the street without getting hassle, so weve swiftly moved up an island to Ko phan ngan. Youll be plesed to know the weathers gone a bit crap, so today we decided to do a thai cooking class! which was brilliant!, my good I made some great food if I do say so myself! Proper green thai curry, shrimpy stir fry, etc etc... and I am now the proud owner of a thai uni cooking certificate, probably worth just slightly less than my Sheffield degree ; ) So now for my U Turn!!!!! been doing a bit of thinking, and decided why go back to the UK for the winter, when ive a perfectly good working visa for Oz to use. So ive gone and booked myslef on a flight back to Sydney on the 2nd September, and am going to have a bash at working threre!! Figure ive gota give it a go! And have a fair few contacts there now. So as it stands, I wont be home untill the new year, but as you know I change my plans as often as I change my Pants! so who knows! Well Hope everyones good, and speak soon Take care Rob : )
