Good afternoon uk and good evening from Vietnam.
We took our first sleeper bus to nha trang from ho chi minh. A few pictures of the bus were taken just because it's not something we normally come cross, it's basically bunk beds (but smaller) on a bus. The trip took about 12 hours which is one hell of a long trip, it didn't help that my initial seat/bed was in the aisle and I was so small my knees were up to my chest. Luckily Tina had a larger sleeping area and we swapped, her legs fitted snuggly into the cramped area. I tried to get to sleep on this bus but it's impossible when the driver spends 10 of the 12 hours honking his horn, when I looked out the window there was nothing on the road so he must just love pushing the horn much like a baby does when they get a toy wheel and squeaky horn on it. The whole journey it rained and on our arrival we were again swamped in the wet stuff so the decision to spent most of the first day catching up on our sleep was an easy one.
It absolutely chucked it down the following day as well but we did our usual of the trek around the place taking in the sights and nha trang had a very laid back pleasant way about it. Unfortunately I got collared by someone trying to sell paintings and throughout our stay there he always seemed to find me. Luckily I got out of buying anything but I'm going to have to consider a disguise or something, maybe a mullet like a german style one or moustache something like that.
Again the following day was overcast and the sense of more rain. Regardless of this we decided to take a trip and visit the hot spring spa in the mountains for a mud bath. We weren't expecting much but It actually turned out to be pretty cool. first we went in a communal mud bath, where we met 3 Hungarians (anna, sofia, peter liptak) and an Irishman (mike) we fortunately got on well with them as we were essentially sitting in a very small bath tub with them! I was expecting to
feel like the term 'a pig in s***' but to be honest it was just odd, i felt like i was being cooked to be eaten as i saw bay leaves and other herbs in there. After showering off, we then got in a hot spring, I preferred this to the mud and I was relieved not to find more herbs or vegetables so I could relax in comfort.
We then spent the rest of the afternoon in the hot outdoor pools (37-39 degrees!), and by the time we finished with the day my skin was shrivelled and I was shattered but an enjoyable day was had.
We met up again with pete the hungarian and mike as they wanted to watch the el classico real madrid v barcelona and i talked them into Watching ipswich v barnsley. Luckily he had an interest in the game due to thomas priskin, i didnt want to break It to him that he wouldnt play as he is absolute toilet. It was nice to be able to have a football chat though and he knew his stuff, he didn't give me the nodding gesture that Tina tends to so when I rattle on about ideal formations and general football chat. Tina spent the evening playing career councillor and general business adviser to the Irish guy who was bored of his job and wanted to set up his own business (to be honest I just copied this paragraph from Tinas blog as I wasn't paying attention to what was going on when the football was on but thought I should mention Tinas activities). Have to say, top game 5-3 and great town comeback just hope we can push on now and keep a settled side.
In summary Nha trang is a really lovely place but its difficult to really appreciate a place when it continues to rain all day long. This is sentiment that all English men and women should recognise. Anyway back on the bus again for another 12 hour journey onto hoi an and surprise it started raining as soon as we got on the bus.

Dad Beer, rain and football. Are you sure that you have really severed links with home ? The bus journey just sounds like my trip down the A12 each week.
