We've now made it to Washington, well just outside. We're staying at a friend of Hugh's for the next few nights before we head to Canada (via Baltimore).
Philadelphia I really liked and had lots of fun there. The first night we went to the Rocky steps and that haunted jail thing. The jail was brilliant. Loads of people dressed up and you went through in small groups whilst they jumped out at you. Any of you who have been to the 'Passage De Terror' in Blackpool will have seen a similar thing but this was bigger and in a scary, old jail. Thankfully we went in with a group of teenage girls who protected me from getting scared.
The day after (Sunday) we went to the NFL - Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants. That was an incredible experience. We got there early to see the tailgate which is basically a massive fan festival all outside the ground where fans turn up (most without tickets) and have a BBQ and get drunk. We had only walked about 50yrds before being invited to join someone's tailgate - they filled us with steak, chicken and beer before heading to the game. The game was great too but my highlight was playing the Rocky music in the build up.
This morning in Philly we walked around South Street area which is their Northern Quarter type area. I got a couple of t-shirts and an amazing milkshake and later we went for a cheesesteak in one of the 'original' type places.
So eventually we set off for our second drive (to Washington) and made it after a couple of unplanned diversions. And now we've just come back from an Ice Hockey warm up game (pic from tonight), Washington beating Columbus 3-1. That too was good but I'm disappointed that I didn't get a free tshirt that they were throwing to people (I was so close).
Oh well. Bed time now before we go to the Capitol building tomorrow and Smithsonian museum. Laters.

Tony Hi So what was the Capitol building like ?
Rob Yeah it was OK, they took my deodorant and sun cream off me though. I preferred the Pentagon.
