Ok, so after Bocas we headed to an ecolodge in the cloud forest for three nights. This place was really off the tourist track, and took a good uphill slog to get to the lodge. We had a cool stay here hiking throuhg jungle, and watching the animals come to eat bananas at night! The rain was fun though, every day at 2pm without fail it shat rain on us in a big way. The cloud forest is a cool place, with surreal views both with and without cloud.
After the ecolodge, we headed to Boquete, a cool little mountain town that sits right next to Volcan Baru - Panama's only volcano and highest point! WE hung around here for a few days, and went to an animal sanctuary, a waterfall, and also through the hills on a scooter we hired - which gave us some awesome views down through the coffee and citrus valleys. As with the rest of Panama, i've eaten a ton of pancakes at breakfast, occasionally trying to make it healthy by throwing a banana into the mix too. On one of the days/nights, I did the night hike up volcan baru to the top, which left me wet (and cold at the top), though the view was cool as hell, as I got to see both the Caribean sea and the Pacific ocean from one place. obviously was very tired the next day!!!
now its time for Costa Rica, more to the point, Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica...I wonder if the bananas will still be 5 pence here too.???????????
