so chile is now complete. didn´t head south of santiago to the patagonia, as it´s meant to be alot like NZ, and the plan was to always head north. We took in Santiago, Valparaiso, La Serena, San Pedro de Atacama and Iquique, each being pretty damn individual. Learnt quite alot in this country and also met a couple which we ended up travelling around a chunk of Chile with. The highlight though was definitly the desert (the driest desert in the world). We saw the salt flats, the lagoons, flamingoes, vicunas, cactus, volcanoes, death and moon valley and a really cool sunset from the top of a ridge. We also went on a star gazing trip, which was mega cool as we got taught about the constellations and their locations, as well as being shown the Southern Cross (can only be seen from the southern hemisphere). And because it was oh so clear, you could properly see the milky way, mars, and saturn through a telescope. really a great experience. Still missing the breakfast they served up to us in Santiago though - Pancakes, fruit, smoothies, fresh rolls, meats and cheese, cereal, and scrambelled eggs. Was a really cool place to stay too. Onto Bolivia
