We hadn't booked anywhere for our stay in Salta but the girl we met on the train from Uyuni had booked into Corre Caminos Hostel so we tagged along with her to see if they had any room for us. We ended up on one of the dodgiest transfers to La Paz from Copacabana in Bolivia which involved crossing a lake in the pitch black, with a fishing-type boat full of people with the captain using a single torch to light his way!
