Arrived safely yesterday and pretty much just crashed at our hotel as were exhausted. Stayed at Matsui Garden Hotel, Ginza - not a luxury we can get used to (see pics!) Had an amazing view but were too busy sleeping to enjoy it.

Today - Went to the Tsukiji Fish Market at 5am. 5am!!! Lots of... fish and busy people signalling for us to get out the way on crazy high speed scooters! Eventually found the auction and there fish the size of humans! Then went for some fresh sashimi. Rob's taste more than mine, but very pleasant chap making it!

Then later met up with Rob's family friend who's lived here for few years now and showed us the sights. Went to Shinjuku and Shibuya. Very busy places with lots of high rise buildings and shops. Good place to people watch. He helped us find our hostel - K's place in Asakusa which was a complete nightmare to find but worth it in the end - basic, but clean and friendly. Then 'Chicken Place' (!) for dinner - Yakitori is meat on sticks - perfect!
