Hey everyone!!!!
Sorry i haven't been in contact for a while, its hard to get a good internet connection, but i hope your all well!! We're in Cape Town, staying in Ashanti Lodge at the minute, which is so cool! Catherine and I have dragged Stephen shopping down Long Street, and to the market - i only wish i could spent more money and had a bigger bag - the clothes are really funky and cheap!!!! damn my rucksack!! hehe! yea so we ended up doing a lot of window shopping!! I also got to go to Indaba design convention, which was really amazing - it had designers from all over the world there - so i was loving it!!!
After going to another Flea Market, we decided to go to the beach, thinking that it would only be about a half an hour walk away - 3 hours later we finally reached the beach!! hehe! well at least we got to see a good bit of Cape Town!! Ooooh and when we were walking there - we passed Rod Stewart on the street - how weird!!
We had planned to go abseiling down Table Mountain - which is meant to be the largest commercial abseil, which would have been really good - if we had have made it to the top!! hehe! instead, we ended up taking the hardest trail, which was called the India Verdes route!! we should really have paid more attention to the sign saying 'climb at your own risk'!! hehe! a path which shoud only be taken by experienced mountain climbers!! but we continued anyway and somehow ventured off that track and got seriously lost!! we had to literally climb up instead of walking!! but we continued on cos we seemed to be getting closer to the top, but with about 20 metres left to climb, we realised we couldnt go any further, cos we were surrounded by vertical cliffs!! hehe! so after finding out that we couldnt actually go anywhere - we had to turn back and start our climb down, which for most of it, i was on my ass!! it was really scary - i thought i was going to have a panic attack!!! hehe! so yea the abseiling didnt really happen - i think we should have taken the cable car up!!! hehehe!!
We also went to Robbyn Island, which is where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned - it was really interesting - and it had loads of really cute penguins randomly walking round, which i thought was really funny and cute!!
Cape Town has been amazing, although i think that we would have needed more time to see the rest of it, but it gives us an excuse to visit it again sometime!!
Talk to you all soon
Love Rach xx
