Fri 30th - back on the road towards Bundaberg. The weather was worsening we hoped moving south would take us away from it, but no we seemed to be taking it with us.We arrived at Agnes Water (another small coastal settlement close to Bundaberg) and again found a little gem of an apartment. We had access to the beach through a small forest and over a stream at the back. The beach was fantastic, the winds were storm force, the waves huge and the roar of the sea was deafening. That night the winds got up and the rain came down in bucket fulls, we were in the middle of a cyclone!Next morning the sky was grey and heavy although the wind had eased a little. We went for a drive to The Town of 1770, another landmark discovered by Capt Cook, the coastal views were wonderful, but with the stormy weather persisting again, the sea was violent but beautiful. We went back to Agnes, Rob and I decided to walk along the beach back to the unit, just as we set off the heavens opened and the wind blew all the rain into our backs, it was really funny as we were still dry at the front! We headed back through the undergrowth to our unit only to find the creek had flooded onto the path. Our choice was wade through, or go all the way back and come home via the road (around 3 miles).Rob led the way, with me squealing behind that there may be crocodiles waiting! (He assured me it was too cold for crocs).
