We are heading for our final island stop after spending half a day in Puerto Rico. We left the kids on the ship this stop in the children's programs. James and I boarded a lovely air conditioned bus and went on a tour of San Juan and then spent an hour at the fortress of San Juan which offered spectacular views of both the city and the ocean. We then strolled through a few shops in old San Juan and picked up a few souvenirs - if your initials are TL and your last name rhymes with Sang, I bought you a magnet :). I even managed to pick up a souvenir that was made in China - but I couldn't resist it as I think a good friend of mine will love. We headed back to the boat and passed up the street vendor selling LV and Coach bags (had to be knock offs or illegally had as they were 45 dollars each). Back on the ship, we enjoyed the poolside BBQ and left port to start the jaunt to Haiti. We had tickets to another ice skating show tonight, but we all passed with the exception of Holly - she says the show was excellent. We are all exhausted and running on fumes, but so appreciative to be here doing all these things. After another top notch dinner we have retired for the evening where I will curl up with my iPod and watch Weeds. Brooke insisted on returning to kids club where they are decorating pillowcases and having a pj night with a movie in one of the conference rooms. James and I played Bingo before supper and he won the 250 dollar plus pot, which had to be split among a handful of other bingo winners - we walked away with 39 dollars (we paid 32 dollars to play), so all in all it was a good day. Puerto Rico is a bustling place with ridiculous traffic and friendly people. As for James, we were unable to strong arm him into competing in the bellyflop competition, but he and Cooper watched it and it was very entertaining.
