After our fancy bus journey, we arrive in Nazca at 6 in the morning, we decided to hang around the bus terminal until the airport opened, we didn’t have long to wait and took a taxi to a tour operator. Every taxi driver in Peru also moonlight as tour operators themselves, trying to sell you excursions to different places, it’s really weird. Anyway we booked our flight; quite cheap actually only 50 pound each and were driven to the airport. The plane was a 6 seated light aircraft and the pilot looked really young, I was pretty worried about the whole experience, I looked to Rory for support but he also looked pretty scared!! In actual fact the flight, take off and landing were surprisingly ok and once up it really was amazing! We flew over each of the Nazca lines looking on both the left and the right side, some of them were really clear, like the monkey and the spider while others were hard to make out. The tipping of the aircraft however brought on extreme motion sickness for me and Rory felt pretty ill too. The flight lasted 40 minutes which was defiantly long enough and was pretty incredible to see these line drawings in the desert, and to know that no one really knows why they are there or who made them. I think it was one of the most incredible things we have seen this trip, although the air sickness sort of ruined it a little. I heard from another traveler that they actually threw up in the bag throughout the whole trip. I felt quite lucky after that! After the flight we had breakfast at Grumpy´s restaurant and I had the best little cat who sat on my lap and loved getting stroked, we then grabbed a bus to Ica.
