NASIK(NASHIK)
Day 4:
We slept in, and went to see different temples. Nashik is a lot different from Mumbai. We don't think that they are used to white tourist here. People stare all the time and those who dare to ask, want to have their picture taken with us. Most of them have very bad english skills, they don't try to scam us all the time - but what an amazing place! if you go to the local marked in the centre of the city - you are in the middle of an impression orgasm. OH MY F GOD. People are bathing in what looks like a mud pool with all weird stuff lying around in it, surrounding this, there are people resting in the shadows, markets, temples and so on. Beside the mud pool is a lake, which also look like a mud pool, which floats trough the city.
During the night we stayed up late, pillow talking about the experiences we been through during the day. We heard a weird voice in our room and the curtains started to move. We went up to see what it was, and when we pulled the curtains a side, there were two young eyes of a man, who had open the window from outside, as soon as he realized he was caught, he ran. We complained to the management the day after and changed hotel. The man looked a lot like one of the night staff members, who had been strange and overly attached to bugging Malou during our stay at the hostel.
Day 5 - 7.
FESTIVAL IN INDIA.
We were supposed to go see a vineyard here in Nashik, but randomly we found out that there is a big festival at one of the vineyards during the weekend, and some of the acts where recognizeable as Bloc Party and Infected Mushroom, so we decided to stay and check it out.
The festival was the size of two football fields and had 3 stages, two bigger and one small one, where they only played lounge music. In the center was the main building with restaurant and bars. Spread out over the place was also a lot of food stands and places to buy liquor. The sound system was something else and could probably be heard for miles, this was also confirmed by a Japanese guy, who was a sound engineer, the sound system was top notch. Well the festival ended up to be a hell of a party, first day we saw some indian acts, great stuff ending with some badass Indian dubstep. The second day we met up with a young indian couple, and we ended up talking about nothing and everything until Bloc Party showed up and wanted to play a couple of songs. Third day was in the name of multi genres bands with a psychadelic touch like Afro Celt Sound System, Hilight Tribe and Infected Mushroom.
This was not also a great opportunity to communicate with the english speaking part of the citizens of India and learn about their great culture, but also try some LOCAL wine, and with the festival being on a vineyard and all (and the only beer served was Budweisser) we had a great selection of different wines to choose from, while talking with the native people. A lot of selflies was taken with random strangers and some interesting new and old music was heard.
We made a video summing up the festival visit and you can watch it here.
