Well...I made it!!! It only took a few more hours at JFK then I wanted and then we had to rush to catch our connecting flight which we only had about an hour to do. All in all it has been an awesome trip so far.
When I came to JKF I didn't know anyone and now I'm chillin and talking to everyone. This place is really cool! I wouldn't mind living here. It was a long and exhausting day yesterday when we got in, but now it's the next day and it awesome having spent a night in another country.
Once we touched down and got to our hotel rooms, I quickly got some fish n chips!!! They were the best I ever had! I found a cool person to chill with. Her name is Meghan...Me and her went out lastnight on our down time to walk around the city and check out the sites...and local pubs!!!
We have done more traveling within the city then anyone else so far. We didn't get back in till about 12:30am Scotland time. We walked for hours taking pictures and checking out the maps and little shops.
We also figured we needed to try some beer. We found this little pub called "Anderson's". This place was for LOCALS! When we walked in, there were 3 stools at the bar and 2 tables. The floors were just planks of wood with dirt all over them, as if you just sweep the dirt outside and its clean. But, on that floor was 2 men wrestling each other. I think winner got a free beer?
We each grabbed a pint of Scottish brewed lager possibly called "TENNANTS"??? All I know is the glass they serve it in has a big "T" on it. It was probably the best beer I have ever tasted! Meghan and I started talking to all the locals. It was fun listening to them talk and tell us stuff I still don't know anything about. But, before we left there to got back to the hotel, the Scotsmen made me do a dance to MC Hammer!!! It was soooo funny...
Today May 31, we had breakfast and went to Stevenson College in the city. We sat through some cool presentations and had lunch, and now I am typing this on the computer in their labs. Thats about all we did so far today, but we are doing something else but I forget the name of it. Nevermind, I have just been infomed that it is New Lanark. But I have no clue what it's about. So check back soon.
Adios
