We got up again (thank god), had a shower (still cold) and went down for... our free breakfast, it was a fry up of sorts, toast, butter, bacon and the count of two, I said two, fried eggs. It was marvelous, oh and a cup of coffee. We headed back up to the room, I had gone full circle as I thought it was a palace now. Bacon and two eggs. I did however think I would see the breakfast again as we were going on a boat trip down the river and I have not got good sea legs. We found the boat station quite quickly and bought a days unlimited pass. It was good, the river was wide and busy, full of boats going in every direction with no sense of order. We were the last stop and got off and saw China town, this was much more impressive than the one in Japan. Again, stalls everywhere, we bought some fresh pineapple which was chopped up and put in a bag, I really enjoyed it, it was chilled on ice and the mid days sun was taking it's place in the sky so pineapple was very refreshing. We then walked to the train station to buy our ticket for our train journey the following day and to test to see how long it would take to get there. Next stop was for a Wat Pho which was a temple, the boat stopped on the wrong side and we had to change boats, the second boat wasn't included in our ticket price so we had to pay the extra fare which was three Bhat each (about six pence),the temple was very impressive but, you had to pay to get in so we took sneaky pictures, the grounds were very pretty and we got a coconut with the top chopped off with two straws put in it. We sat on the side of the river and drank it Sarah saying about ten times 'now I feel like we are on holiday'. We the ate the flesh of the coconut, there was a lot and I couldn't eat it all, I tore a piece out and threw it in the river and within about one second a massive fish came to the surface a gobbled it up. I then took all the flesh out and threw it in, there were hundreds of fish all about one foot long eating it all up. We headed back to the river to cross back over onto the right side for the boat, 'do we have to buy another ticket or is that a return?' 'Sarah it was six pence!' 'oh yes'. We went back across, we had a look around on the right side of the river, again lots of stalls and shops selling good quality rip off's of all the big names in fashion. Then it was drink time, at the side of the river there was a little shanty bar where we ordered a Fanta and an Ice Tea, also two chicken noodle meals (stir fry basically), it was nice to sit there and watch the world go by, I asked for the bill it was one hundred a forty Baht (just over three pounds) not bad for two meals and two drinks. The next thing we did was most out of character, we got off the boat at The Reclining Buddha and we actually paid to get in, and it was worth it there were well maintained gardens and monuments and statues with gold buddha's lining the walls, the main bit of the Reclining Buddha was in fact the reclining Buddha which was about one hundred metres long and a very shiny gold metal. It was a great place. We then went to the Palace, we did not go in here, however some jobsworth gave Sarah a lecture on her shorts being too short to enter the palace, 'we are not going in, so it doesn't matter' on and on he went and Sarah just kept sheepishly saying, 'we are not going in' 'it's o.k I work here I am not trying to scam you' well that means you are then you dodgy little fella, in the end I was half way up the street and as if Sarah were a dog I shouted 'Sarah come here' he was doing my brain in though. We then headed back to the boat place we got on to go back to the hotel, we had cold showers and headed down to the bar as Sarah confirmed she could eat a scabby dog she was so hungry. She ordered a beefburger with chips and a free pepsi, cost ninety nine Baht so about two quid. I had a bottle of Chang, I promised my mate Ross I would have one as he is an Everton supporter and they sponsor them. Then we headed for the Koh San road, much more prepared and up for it tonight. We found a bar that did buckets of spirits just to loosen us up, vodka redbull, very handy. Then hit the street vendors first thing we had was spring rolls, these were o.k but tasted like spring rolls in England. Then Sarah was desperate to have a 'fish spa' this is where little fish (thousands of them) are in a tank, you put your feet in and they eat all the dead skin off them. We paid for her to have fifteen minutes, and it was the funniest ten minutes of my life until the chap offered me ten minutes for one hundred Baht. I said 'i'll have five minutes for fifty Baht' he agreed 'and a bottle of Chang' to be fair it wasn't as funny when I had my feet in there, it felt like a massive tickle and like an electric shock (like in those novelty Christmas games, the ones that just tingle) but continuously they came all the way up my legs, Sarah was now laughing at me however I reckon she must have a mank feet as she literally had fish shoes on! This was a funny but unrepeatable experience. We then headed for another bar, on the way Sarah saw a bikini she liked, 'which one, which one?' said the old boy at the stall 'the brown and white one, how much is it?' 'how much you want to give me?' 'well how much do you want for it?' 'three hundred and fifty Baht' 'no, ill give you two hundred and fifty' in the end I got it for two hundred and fifty, but realised Sarah hadn't found one that fitted, the Thai lady took her to one side and wrapped the tit sling round her boobs and started poking them, 'you wan to tak bra off?' I laughed very loudly and shouted 'dont forget to try the bottoms on Sarah!' 'shut up' was the reply. Anyway one bikini better off we headed for the bar, I had a Long Island Ice Tea (which always reminds me of Las Igwanas in Bristol as me and my mate Adam were very fond of it, happy hours) and Sarah a Singapore Sling, very tidy. I then found a straw hat which was one hundred Baht (now we've started, you are not travelling until you have a travelling hat), next bar please driver (there was no driver really it was only four doors up) and I had a Blue Lagoon and Sarah a Tequilla Sunrise, we were on a role. We decided to have more food, I wanted Pak Chou and Sarah settled on a pizza so we went to a restaurant and Sarah had a Margarita (pizza this time not cocktail) I had a beer, after eating I had a Pak Chou from a street vendor which was down the road near our hotel. in the hotel room I discovered that the Manchester United vs Birmingham City game was on, I however fell asleep and Sarah woke up hours later to switch it off and my alarm as I was due to Skype but it didn't even wake me, like a log again.
