The first full day at Aleenta passed quietly as we both endeavoured to recover from the timeshift and travel. Have a look at the photo's and I think you'll agree, there could be worse places on earth.
We spent the day alternating between resting, reading, listening to music, catching up on emails, brick batting and enjoying beautiful food.
Aleenta at Hua Hin is setup with villas to cater for around eight couples so the staff already know our names, our preferences etc. Another section about 500m away has more accomodation in a hotel suite style. The staff are always willing to help and are wonderfully happy.
For those that have been to SE Asia before, you'll know what I mean when I say long-prop's seem the main mode of transport on the water ... The photo on this blog entry shows one. These boats are effectively a long narrow canoe with a large motor mounted at the rear, driving a long prop at least 3 m behind the boat. These boats are busy in the bay day & night fishing and we assume at least a few provide the resort with the amazingly fresh ingredients we consume.
The villa is setout well but we just hope there's no repeat of the tsunmai that hit Phuket as we would be sharing our bed with the local sea life.
Anyway, not much more to say about today except that Jacq has fallen off to sleep and I've got a chance to hit the pool and try for the brickbat score again.
Until later ... Jacq & Richie xxxx
