Originally I was quite looking forward to Nha Trang. I'd heard good things about it and when I'd arrived at 6am the beach was already busy with the locals and it looked good. But as I'd just spent 5 days in Hoi An (4 of which I'd cycled to the beach) and it was pretty similar sort of a story.
After the first day on the beach I booked Mama Linh's island hopping boat trip. This was good fun, as there's snorkelling, a bit of sightseeing, and the shipmates all form a makeshift band that drag each nationality on stage to represent there countries in a kind of version of Eurovision. All very amusing, and there's also a floating bar midway through the day to get to know each other.
The day of the boat trip was apparently Canada day ( I know I didn't know they had one either). One of the bars had astutely advertised the party there were having to celebrate as there's a fair few Canadians travelling eh. Anyway about 10 of us on the boat agreed to escort the solitary Canadian to the party. I also bumped into another guy I'd met in China (Daniel, also Canadian). He'd just finished a 3 day easy rider motorcylcle tour through the mountains. It sounded great and I wish I'd done it now. Those damn James Bond suits!
One of the days I went up to the mud baths which was also good for change and quite relaxing. And my skin is now so soft ;-)
After 8 days in beach resorts I was looking foward to getting back into the city. Saigon next.
