3/1/10 - day 25.
an improvement on the previous nights sleep - only woke up twice cos of the snorer. i did kick his bed several times during the night to try and make him stop but to no avail.
developed a touch of man flu over nght as well so didnt feel very well when i got up around 9am to pack up and make my way down to the bus station.
the bus left promptly at midday which was a shocker! i really hit the jackpot with my seat on the bus, i had so much leg room with my legs outstretched i still couldnt touch the seat infront of me. was a really nice bus and they drinks and a meal on the way up to the border crossing at penas blancas. all this comfort and feeding kinda made sense and justified the rather steep 15 pound price tag. when we got to the border crossing i was fully anticipating another nightmare but they made it as smooth as possible. the whole thing took under an hour. i was particularly relieved as i'd been feeling progressively worse throughout the day.
it was 4 and half hours up to the border, 10 mins queueing to get stamped out of costa rica, back on the bus, driver took us to the entry point, took everyone's passport to immigration, came back half an hour later and off we went. such an improvement on my previous border crossing experience!
20 mins later i got off at rivas, and then after exhaustive and very comincal haggling got a cab to san juan del sur which is where i would be staying for a couple nights. it's a small, slightly touristy, beach town which i wanted to spend a day at after 5 in a city.
when i got to a hostel, i felt so drained and ill that all i wanted to do was check the arsenal score (beat west ham in the fa cup 2-1) and go to bed even though it was only like 8 o clock. so i did.
