The first thing to do today has been to find somewhere to stay for tonight and the next week. I have decided to base myself here in Negombo and not to travel too much but give my body a chance to recuperate. It is hard to imagine that just over ten years ago, an incredibly destructive tsunami hit this coastline and thousands perished. The train travelling along the coast from Colombo to Galle was swept away killing nearly all of the 1,700 passengers on board.
