Today we headed back up on to the mainland in order to take in a tour which included an island that featured in the James Bond movie, The Man with the Golden Gun (see pic!). We started with a longtail boat ride through the mangroves and limestone islands (or karsts) with some pretty cool scenery along the way. We then got transferred into little sea kayaks where a guide manoeuvred us through increasingly low ceilinged sea caves - very scary! Next stop was Koh Phing Kan (James Bond Island) which was very pretty but a bit of a scrum. We headed off to lunch at Koh Panyi, a stilt village of around 2200 people descended from Muslim fishermen who arrived from Java 200 years ago. After this we had one last stop at Wat Tham Suwankhuha, a buddist cave temple full of the buddah in various poses, autographs of Thai kings carved into the rock and a LOT of monkeys. Pretty good day!
