Today we decided on a wander down Orchard road, the famous shopping district in Singapore. We also needed to arrange transport to Malaysia and find somewhere to watch the rugby! We went to the amazing visitor centre on Orchard road where the extremely helpful Steven Wang sorted us out, telling us know that the bus was the way forward and even phoned to hold a booking for us. He made sure Ian could sit in front of the fan - it is HOT here! And there were even free massage chairs for weary travellers! While Ian went to the bus station to collect the tickets I shopped - whoop! The malls were ridiculously huge and opulent full of flagship stores for every unaffordable brand you can think of! Still, I managed to find a few really cool things to bring home to remind me of my stay here (thanks Sian and Rich!). We found a roughly Irish themed bar to watch the rugby and in the end a good crowd turned up. Unfortunately Alain Rolland is now no longer Ian's favourite person! Can't believe France are going through after being beaten by Tonga! Is that the first time a team that lost two pool games has gone on to reach the final!? Anyway, we headed out in the evening to Clarke Quay which is a trendy waterfront district full of 'nice' restaurants and bars. We had a pretty good seafood meal (snapper and crab) which was lovely but the service let it down a bit! We'll be sticking to the street stalls from now on - much cheaper and friendlier - even if they are all Man United fans! Off to malaysia tomorrow!
