Right, sorry for the long blog today! We have been on Manta Ray island since the 31st August and we've been having ball out there. We caught the Yasawas flyer (thanks to the Cheadle massive!) and arrived on the island mid-afternoon. We had a bit of a hoo-ha with our room - long sorry but in the end they upgraded us to a private jungle bure for two nights for our troubles! So we spent the last few days by the pool at the Volivoli beach resort not doing a great deal! Except of course watch New Zealand choke again in the tri-nations! However today it was time to move on. We drove to a tiny beach resort on the north coast near Ba to experience a bit of the Indo-Fijian lifestyle! We made our own nan breads on a traditional stove and had some amazing curry for lunch. Today I was somewhat hungover. Good job I didn't have anything to do except sit by the pool, read, swim, take in the views, read a bit more, sunbathe (well, you get the picture!). We ended up staying up having drinks with the Feejee experience guys last night who were leaving this morning, and a couple whose uncle owns the resort. Good times! We have moved into the dorms to save a few pennies but they're lovely and to be fair, we are hanging out in the bar/restau...

Today we had an early start as we headed up the coast towards Volivoli. On the way we drove through Suva which is the largest city in the south pacific and was a real change of pace from what we've been used to! We then stopped off at Nasaudori for some lunch supplies (incidentally where our guide Dave was from). After this we headed to a small village called Nasautoka. We had a chilled out day today going to the local arts centre for a mosey, getting some post cards and sorting laundry as well as having a read of our books. I had a massage (yum!) which seem to be popular here and certainly fits the lifestyle! In the evening we went to the beech and put an hibiscus flower in the sea to remember Ian's mum who died 12 years ago today. All in all a very relaxed day.
