Hong Kong, American Samoa
Hello, well I have arrived - flight was good...just long - and having spent most of the past 24 hours fighting jet lag I have been out & about. Mainly walking the city in the Central & Kowloon districts. Done a bit of shopping (ordered some tailored shirts), so hope they turn out ok. I have been to the Peak by Tram which was really good...great views and the weather this past 2 days has been 24 degress celcius....how's it been in the UK?...bbbrrgggghh!! Also, got on the bus to Stanley beach and had a look about...a nice quiet beach after the city. Though on the way back on the bus jet lag kicked in and I feel asleep, so I reckon the locals thought that they had another drunk Englishman on their hands!! All that was on Monday. Today I have been upto the Buddha temple via cable car...great views of the mountains and the new airport (which the cable car runs alongside partly). No before you ask....I have not converted to Buddism....or (as Gail asks) met Ting Tong yet!! Though the fashion out here is all short skirts/shorts and boots....so Pat would be happy...not a sling back shoe in site!!!
Anyway, one more day and then it is on the "big bird" again for another 12 hours to Auckland.....and time to meet the Butcher family....then the going will get tough!!
to be continued...Tony.
p.s. sorry about the picture...not one from Hong Kong as the PC I am using will not allow devices to be connected.
