Hi all...
So I have decided to combine two blogs into one because I am lazy.. and also because im busy. stupid uni work. never getting done..
ANYWAY! So, for Chinese New Year, the family and I went to the East Coast Parkway (one of our favourite places in Singapore if you havnt already gathered!). We set up a picnic and basically had a buffet amount of food, listened to music on dad's newly aquired ipod speaker and watched the sun setting. It was good fun because half of Singapore turned out there, it was so crowded.. and it was interesting to see how they were celebrating. They were all in massive groups of people cooking even bigger amounts of food and singing songs that i couldnt understand. So.. needless to say, the websters got into the spirit of things and droned them all out with our karaoke. good fun haha.
I didnt get any pictures of it, but we DID celebrate Aussie Day, which falls the monday of CNY, by having a BBQ. So, we did our bit for the country haha.
Also, I got asked by the lovely Rowena and co to join her to an island off Singapore called Palau Ubin. I had a great time.. although we took the wrong bus first off, so it took a bit longer than expected to get there haha. Once we got there, we went to a restaurant that had been recommended and had awesome chilli crab. yum. Then, as you do in Ubin, we rented bikes (mine was awesome.. an old-school pink bicycle with a basket hehe) and rode around the island. The only downfall of my bike was that it wasnt a mountain bike.. I had been too preoccupied with the colour to think about that when choosing it.. so it struggled a bit up the hills haha.
Needless to say, I had a great time on both occassions and it was good to check out Palau Ubin, its a very different side to Singapore.. but its so hard to get to, I dont think Im going to go back any time soon haha.
Much love,
Rhi x
