Team Hiles are now officially in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time. This has coincided with a requirement for something a little warmer than shorts and t-shirts. Brrrr.
After the Carribean Coast we returned to Panama City to hit Central Americas largest shopping centre, where the lady in Panamanian B&Q threatened to call the cops because we weren't carrying our passports - a little overzealous perhaps considering we were only buying a head torch.
Full of the joys of freedom we flew into Lima two days ago. Despite popular opinion, we have quite enjoyed Lima (or at least the posh district of Miraflores), taking in the department stores and outdoor adventure shops with a view to replenshing lost items. As you can see from the pic we are ready to head into the Andes in style!
Having met a lovely lady on the plane here, we have a fresh list of food challenges for Peru. We have just survived a coronary-inducing roast pork sandwich (Chicharron), with deep fried Churros filled with condensed milk for dessert. Yum!
Now with 3 days of shopping behind us we are ready for the adventure to begin again. We fly to Cusco tomorrow to meet Franky, ready for the Inca trail next weekend (providing legs and lungs hold out).
