Sunday
Quiet day today - went for a tuk tuk ride to the royal gardens and then a walk along the river then onto the afternoon at Pub Street. Stayed around there for dinner before heading home .
Monday
Grabbed a tuk tuk and went and visited the silk farm which about 15km out of Siem Reep. That was pretty interesting - so much detail put into the work that can takes months to complete. Beautiful work.
That night we had dinner at the hotel and after dinner Pat and I were playing Jenga and there were other Aussies there who we started talking to. Massive spin out as one the guys turned out to be one of my old teachers from Maclean High School who I hadn't seen for 35 years. Was just crazy as he remembered by name and those of so many others in my year . Was a great way to end our time in Cambodia.
Tuesday
Early start as needed to be at the airport by 6.30 to start our trek to Phuket and to meet the girls at Kuala Lumpur. We had no hassles getting to KL and settled on the lounges at Burger King as w head to wait 4 hours for the girls to arrive. They then took an hour to get through to the arrival hall. Was very excited to see them eventfully and we headed in our next flight through to Phuket.
Got picked up at Phuket airport and took another hour to get to the hotel at Karon. The girls were stuffed still being on Australian time so was about 10.30 before we got to the hotel and another hour or so before we got to bed. Lacey's not well with tonsillitis still .
Not happy with the rooms as we were only on 2nd floor and I had asked for a top floor.
Wednesday
Headed down to talk to the feeing desk about our rooms and was offered the family room on the top floor. It's awesome with the biggest bed we have ever seen in our room and the girls have s massive room on their side and we have a good view so we are happy now.
Had a wander around Karon and had a fish massage . What a strange sensation - they loved my manky feet!!!
Anyway that was a good experience and
I Would do that again.
Came back to the room and we all had a nap before a storm hit.
Dinner was back down Karon town - was pretty quiet there compared to other places we have been - looking forward to seeing Patong tomorrow .
