Ren and M's Excellent Adventure
After the laid back atmosphere of Peru nothing could have prepared us for the spectacal of La Paz. The journey to the city itself was remarkable.....via immigration by foot, through Copacabana, and over lake titicaca. The first sight of the city was amazing as it is located in a basin surrounded by mountains.
We walked around and found a hostel bordering the witches market and black market. We managed to see an array of Lama foetuses, armadillos and various stuffed creatures. We did buy a little gift for Patcha Mama (mother earth!) as we knew we were heading for slightly rougher terrain in Uyuni..........
After Renato's brush with the most dangerous road in the world (Cycling downhill for 64 km's with sheer drops AND falling off!) we went out and got completely smashed with two Swiss who enjoyed tequila and caipirinias far too much (She like me had avoided the Death run by being armed and dangerous with a credit card around the shops!) With officially our "worst hangover in the world ever" we headed to get the train.....
