Well we set off on our train to Aberdeen and unfortunately the cables had been stolen up ahead! So we had to swap trains and stand for 7 hours with our train being delayed etc also! Found a camp site on the outskirts of Aberdeen, was a bit of a hike, first night of camping and the rain sure did pour down! The next day we headed for the central highlands area, stopping at Glenfiddich distillery to sample a few whiskys and continue on our way. We ended up camping in Inverness for the night, checked out the city and the following day spent a night on a farm campsite around Loch Ness. We then headed for Applecross in the north west highlands area, such a nice small town settled into a nice pub in the evening and got eaten alive by midgy's at the campsite! The worst we've ever seen! Saw a few comby's - where my obsession started with taking photos everywhere we go, and i have decided i am investing in one first thing when i return home (when ever that is!). The next day we headed for Isle of Skye again as we didn't see much last time, our campsite was the windiest and coldest we could have picked in a super exposed spot, put the thermals on which felt bizarre considering it is summer!! Climbed up to the base of the old man at storr which gave us a wicked view of isle of skye wild countryside. We then continued down towards Fort William and stayed at Glen Nevis, went on a really beautiful hike and was probably the nicest part of the trip for us. The next day we carried on down through the Lake District, had a look around there before heading back to London to fly to Sweden!
