After five or so hours on the train arrived into Levanto, not actually one of the 5 cinque terre villages but right next door, we stayed there as it had camping. Nice campsite in the trees, pretty much had it to ourselves, they did great croissants and cappucinos!!
This was my 2nd time here, thought Dave had to see it, it's pretty cool! Did the hike on a monday, so not as many people which was great. Only fault was starting the day with a bit of wine tasting! Us and an american couple, in the back office (we were imagining nice balcony with views!) by the time we had finished and got outside we felt slightly toasted and it was getting onto 1pm and still had four villages to do! So set off and after about 4 hours got to Monterosso just as it was getting dark, fully knackered as our detour added another hour or so! Really appreciated the lemonade at the end from the man withe the lemon orchard!! Rewarded ourselves with pizza and pasta, and our favourite...limoncillo!!
Next day hung out at the beach and left late for Milan where we stayed overnight at the airport, as had an early Easyjet flight to Lisbon the next day!
