Arrived in Sarajevo and thought we had jumped ahead of time by about 3 months, it was FREEZING! Well about 9 degrees in the middle of the day,but quite a change from Croatia. We again had a nice double room in a guest house and the central heating was in full swing so it was all nice and cosy and we were pleased not to be in a tent! Our room had a kitchen so we even cooked a roast to warm ourselves up! Arrived in the afternoon and checked out the city, being a Saturday it was pretty busy and a really lively place. So different from other european cities with a mosque, a synagogue and orthodox church within a block of each other. It definitely had a east meets west feel and was a lot more than we were expecting. Dave fell in love with the cake shops, on every corner and so cheap! We checked out the historical museum the next day, which gave quite a good background to the early 90s conflict, then that afternoon we jumped on a tour to the Sarajevo Tunnel. The tour was run by an ex Bosnian army soldier, so it was quite interesting to hear his perspective and we got to walk through part of the original Sarajevo Tunnel. Overall a pretty interesting place to visit, really rated it.
