Happy holidays everyone!
I finished my Open Water Diving course a week ago and yesterday I did the final dive for the Advanced Adventure course. It has been really amazing! Especially the last course was pure awesomeness.
On the first day we did bouancy control, which was pretty much a trick course underwater, and a bit more navigation than we had in the OWD course.
Second day we did deep dives. First was a dive to 30 meter depth with a nitrogen narcosis test, it really slows your thinking a lot. Second dive we went to a wreck. HTMS Sattakut, is an old japanese world war 2 ship that was sunken for diving purpouses few years ago. It was so cool down there! The ship is still in really good condition though it is starting to rust up nicely.
Last night was the night dive. For the first 15m I had some trouble equalizing the pressure because small flu I caught, but after that it was a lot of fun. During the night the underwater world is diffrent. Barracudas hunting, crabs scuddling between the rocks, stingrays finding stuff to eat. We also saw a huge turtle under a big rock. Lastly we saw a cuttlefish(seepiä in finnish) which is really rare sight here, our instructor has seen one only once before and he has something like three thousand dives around here!
Today I'm going to go to the border of Burma for visa run, only takes about 14h or so. On christnas eve I hope my little flu is gone so I can go to dive on Sail Rock which is supposed to be one of the best sites around Koh Tao. In the evening there will be a finnish christmas party in The Earth Bar, ham, Santa and a lot of Finns.
Oh yeah, christmas cards will be arriving a bit late since I haven't sent them yet...
