Hey hey!
It`s been a while yet again... getting lazy with the writing. Anyways now I`ve done it and went up to the Machu Picchu few days ago. I went there by train, so I had to "wake up" at 2:30 am. Well I didn`t wake up since I never went to sleep.
The hassel started in the hostels reception where I met Aini and Iina. "Hey by the way do you have my train ticket?" and ofcourse the answer was no! Good thing they have an electronic reservation system so I managed to get my ticket when we got to the train station after some 2 hours minivan ride. I think I was sleeping atleast half the ride which was kind unnerving, it was pitch black and the mountain roads are so near the edges.
The train ride was went half asleep aswell. Once we got to Aguas Calientes, the small town right below Machu Picchu, I found a lady yelling my name as she had my ticket for the final destination. After I had procured the ticket we went to the hostel where we had a reservation and took some 3 hours nap. After some sleep and a liquid breakfast (coca tea and orange juice for me) we hopped on a bus to go up.
We were thinking of getting a guide to the place but in the end I am happy we didn`t, it was so nice to go around exploring at our own pace. What so say about the place itself, It is amazing! If you ever come to Peru, go see it! Definetly worth the couple hundred dollars and you can do it much cheaper aswell if you feel adventurous, energetic and habla some espaniol.
Can`t say much more about the Machu Picchu, just check the pictures I finally uploaded!
Today is my last day in Peru, however I should have left a week ago according to my visa. Good thing it is only 1$/day extra so yeah... no biggie. I was just surprised that I am over since you can get 183 days visa here and the retarded immigration officer only stamped me 30 days, I guess it is discrimination because I don`t speak spanish and he made it very clear that "I Peru we habla espaniol, no habla english".
Oh well, next destination La Paz, Bolivia! Got a nice 24 hours bus ride waiting for me in the evening.
