So the full moon party was good... Although we hadn't taken much money out with us (we were afraid of pick pocketers) and we actually ran out of money within about an hour, so we didn't stay long. It was cool to see though. There were thousands and thousands of people all partying on the beach!
The next day we had a lazy beach day and then the following day we headed on to Phi Phi, with an overnight stop in Krabi to break the journey up. We got here in the evening and left in the morning to catch our next ferry, so didn't see much there.
Phi Phi was awesome. We spent 4 days there. It's such a tiny place, full of bars and restaurants, so you wouldn't want to spend too long here as it's quite noisy, but it was good fun.
We had a couple of nights out, and some days at the beach playing frisbee, and we did the best boat trip...
We went to monkey Island where we saw a couple monkeys (that we weren't allowed to touch or feed), we stopped at a cove where we jumped out of the boat in life jackets and had a beer in the sea, we did some amazing snorkelling (where there were more fish than on the Great Barrier Reef), and of course visited the famous Maya Beach, which features in the Leonardo Dicaprio film 'The Beach'!
It was such a nice day that ended with a sunset and a night swim with glow in the dark plankton!
Down on the beach at night they had fire shows, where they had skipping ropes on fire that you could skip through, and rings of fire you could jump through (for free cocktail shots). I didn't do the skipping, because most people burnt their feet a bit, but I did jump through the rings of fire!
There was a steep 20 minute walk you could do to a viewpoint over the Island and watch the sunset too which we did one evening and was really beautiful. Phi Phi is a great place to go for a few days, but we were ready to leave the hustle and bustle and move on to Phuket....

Sir Gregory Edward Moss Jess, don't swim at night, it's when sharks feed. Your rape alarm will not work in these circumstances. Glad you are having fun. Do you know what a nelipot is?
Mum It's funny how we all have a different response to your blogs which continue to be jaw dropping at all the incredible experiences you are having. When it got to the night swim, my thought was 'how magical glow in the dark plankton must be'. Then when it got to the rings of fire my heart skipped a beat again as I had visions of your hair catching fire! So pleased that you have found a little window in your busy schedule to update us. Every blog is just so fascinating and fun to read. Love you loads xxx
Pat Ibbetson Glad I am not there to watch all these adventures you get up to. My heart skips a beat just reading about them. It is all so amazing. Love A.Pat
Jessica Sir Gregory... I do not know what a nelipot is. Please could you explain this term? And would a rape alarm deter a shark if used? You should know, you're the shark expert. I managed not to singe my hair mum. I have a video I will share on icloud for you to upload. Aunty Pat, at least I am updating you with these scary activities AFTER i've done them, so you know I am safe! Lots of love to you all xxxx
Chris Blackler Goodoh, we've finally caught up with you and read the latest. We were a little worried but understand that your latest blog was placed before the previous one, consequently we were not looking in the correct place date wise. All your experiences have been so exciting and we enjoy hearing about what you are doing. I've looked in three dictionaries and the nearest thing to helipot is helical which is coiled/spiral/turning etc etc. unless Greg left out the "r" and actually meant heliport. Actually, forget all the above. I have just put my glasses on and can now read it as Nelipot. Sadly there is no meaning for that given in any of my dictionaries OR Roget's Thesaurus......... Back in boredomland, Uncle Dave and I are just off to Sainsburys before he sets off for bowls. We have just skyped your Mum and Andy and they were in the middle of a fantastic storm in Kuala Lumpur. We could hear all the thunder and it was awesome. Take care Jess. Enjoy the stay in Sydney. Lots of love Auntie Chris and Uncle Dave xx p.s. Watch out for all those nelipots. They sound dangerous.
