Colleen & Tom's Explorations
Today was a lovely, low-key day. We were waiting for the lift to go down to breakfast, and when the doors opened, a voice said "Colleen!" And it was Janine, the lady from Coffs Harbour that I met yesterday, and because we were all going to the buffet level of the dining room, we got to sit at the same table. It was so nice - she and her husband are soooo nice and I didn't think I'd get to see them again. She's another 1956 baby. We all got chatting at the table, and the lady across from us was a teacher at Penrith High until about 15 years ago. Her daughter and son in law were teachers at Winmalee HS but now own the Springwood newsagency. Such a small small world. It was such a great table, what a pity our dinner table is not just like it. After breakfast we returned to our room and watched the Queensland coast slipping by, making the most out of our internet service while we had it. I had a phone message from the doctor, telling me about my torn meniscus, and not to do anything that hurts, and we would look into treatment when I return. Two weeks after the MRI!! Tom went off to his painting lesson and I stayed and read - I've started reading Maggie Smith's biography. When he returned we went up to the Windjammer for lunch - it's a buffet style dining area at the back of the ship. We were sitting with an American lady when Janine wandered along so we invited her to join us. Another wonderful mealtime. We returned for afternoon naps, after checking out this evening's menu for the dining room, and deciding to dine in the Windjammer again. We dined early so we could enjoy the evening's performance down in the theatre - Matt Hale, a hypnotist. It was really enjoyable. After enjoying that show, with a Baileys, we returned to our cabin for some TV viewing.
