Anacondas, shrunken heads and natives, oh my! We went to Camino del Sol today latitude 00 degrees, 00',00" the middle of the world. Got a little sick standing on the equator, the gravitational pull between the Northern hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere was wild, it was pulling me strongly towards the northern side. It was a very interactive tour with lots of demonstrations. One was a sink that they filled with water and would drain in a bucket. When the sink was on the equator in drained straight down no swirling in the bottom. When they moved the sink inches in to the southern hemisphere the water drained counter clockwise and inches in to the northern hemisphere the water drained clockwise. This demonstrates how our tornadoes and hurricanes form in the northern hemisphere and in the southern hemisphere they have cyclones and typhoons, really cool stuff. Another experiment was balancing an egg on the head of a nail on the equator line where the gravity is neutral! Savannah was the only one with hands steady enough to do it, you can see her picture with the egg in my newest photo album. We got to tell time on a solar clock and it was dead on! We sat in an authentic house from 1875 built by te Andean people. The house was made of palm tree leaves, bamboo, dirt, molasses and dung of many animals. We sat inside the house while we heard about the history, at the end our tour guide told us that the Andean people lived with guinea pigs, if the guinea pigs were quiet there was good energy in the house, if they were noisy it was bad energy. Phew, thank god we passed the test and the guinea pigs were quiet, because the next exhibit was authentic shrunken heads, one of a 12 year old human and one of a sloth. We got step by step instructions of how the Shuar's tribe, Wuaorani and Kichua tribes shrunk the heads. So, don't make me angry or you might become shrunken head jewelry, the more heads you have the more powerful you are.......I took quite a few pictures and you to can learn how to shrink heads.
Just got finished roasting hotdogs and marshmallows for s'mores. Too much fun! Heading to bed early tonight a busy day of shopping with Aunt Lynn tomorrow, can't wait.
