So ...Tayrona.. Described as a must see by enough people that we decided we needed to go. To get there you either do a huge trek through jungle, knee deep in mud climbing sheer rock faces etc or you get the boat straight to the beach. Since there had been a 12 hour thunderstorm with heavy rain the night before we left we elected to go for the boat option. This took about 90 mins and went straight to the beach of Cabo which is renowned as the nicest in Tayrona. I...

So we're sitting in hammocks outside the hostel sipping beer whilst watching a lightning storm over the mountains in the distance. Below us there's a Colombian guy playing guitar and singing in his back garden. We've just had the most incredible fillet mignon that was so huge we've brought some back for lunch tomorrow, the heat has died down to a perfect warmness and there's a gentle breeze rocking the hammock... I think we've found bliss

Arrived in Taganga. Tiny fishing village which is just a bay with rolling green hills surrounding it. I'm sitting in a hammock on the second floor of our hostel watching the chickens run around in the dirt streets below. Tomorrow we will seek out some scuba diving action :)

Had a fun night tonight on the chiva - basically a brightly coloured bus with open sides and a band in the middle playing the exact music you have on your Cuban cd! They go around the hotels picking people up and then they hand out the rum and coke and get the party started!
