We left our Hotel in Shanghai at 9 am. It was 27C outside when we touched down at 3pm so not to shabby. An immigration que, train and free shuttle bus ride later and we were in our hotel in Kowloon by about 5pm. Its now 18.10 and I'm sat on the hotel bed watching Tourist TV looking at all of the different offerings available to us in the local area. Given half a chance, I reckon we could be quite busy :)
We've got a discovery tour booked for early tomorrow morning so that should also help to set us up for the next couple of days.
After unpacking, we caught a cab down to Victoria Harbour where we watched the famous 'symphony of lights'. Basically, loads of skyscraper buildings across the other side of the dock put on a 20 minute light show that is set to music. It was ok, but to be honest, needs am update. The music is old and a bit 'plinky plonky' and in my opinion they don't make the best out of what's available to them. I think that perhaps they need to call in the guy who directed the show we saw in Yangshuo - (who incidentally also designed & choreographed the opening ceremony to the Beijing Olympics)- that'll sort it :)
After the show we walked back about 1.5 miles down Nathan Road to our hotel in order to get a better feel for where we are.
We turned in at a reasonable time because we've got an early start tomorrow. We need to be showered, breakfasted and ready to meet the guide downstairs at 8.10.
