Not much to say today -
Travelled north to Miri to prepare for our expedition into Mulu National Park.
Airport upset Dan - on all our travels so far he has been allowed to take his tiny first aid scissors on the plane, and all of a sudden, on this short domestic flight, they were cruelly takenm off him. What if there was an emergency? What if I need some immediate medical attention, or worse still, we needed to get into something really difficult and had to required the use of something sharp to get into it - think of the consequences of their actions. Who knows what might happen?
It doesn't even bear thinking about.
On top of all that, he was not allowed to but cigars from the duty free because we were flying on a domestic flght - the shop was in the domestic terminal. What is the sense in that. I think that's the worst shop ever made. It's like putting a playground in a town that is devoid of children, or a McDonalds where all the residents are Vegitarian.
But uneventful other than that. We are going to explore Miri, and maybe something more interesting might be able to be said tomorrow.
