Arrived in Plitvic Lakes Campground after a short bus trip from Zagreb. Found Pete and Emily from Canada were also camping there, so caught up with them over a few drinks. Next day we headed for the lakes, tried to get the student discount but no luck with this, so made our way into the reserve along with heaps of tour groups and other tourists and travellers. Once we got into the area further people went there seperate ways down heaps of different tracks surounding the lakes, so was pretty cool then. The lakes are amazing, super clear blue water, with one lake falling into the next lake about 10m below each other. Carp pretty much dominated the fish life in the lakes, but saw a few trouch in some of the pools. We made our way through most of the tracks going all the way to the far end of the lakes and then making our way back down the other side. Managed to sneek in a nature swim on a quiet part of one of the larger lakes in between ferry´s passing by. Nice place to see for the day. the next day we packed up the tent and caught a bus through to Zadar on the coast.
