Update since i last wrote....We decided last min to go to a place call Bowen (chiefly because that was the name of our favourite cafe in sydney!). Turned out to be a v. nice little town surrounded by epic beaches - found an amazing campsite just on the edge of the ocean. Whiled away three days doing nothing but lying on the beach and watching the sunset (only place you can see it from on the east coast).
Then headed off to Airlie beach were we spent a day and a night - didn't go out to the whitsundays at the weather was ghastly (serious torrential tropical rain) and it was v expensive.
We stoped over last night in Yepoon - a v weird place, everyone was squiffy so we left a 6 this morn and headed further south. Stopped off for the afternoon in 'Agnes Waters' and the 'Town of 1770' - two v. nice seaside towns filled with surfers and holiday goers. Now in Bundaberg - just made a quick trip to the rum distillery and about to set off to our campsite. Managed to get the last avaliable slot - phew...otherwise it would have been an eve of beach camping!
Have done a grand stretch of driving which means we can now do stuff without hurrying along - Lots more beaches to see and books toread.
