Bonjour! Our cruise down the Seine was amazing. It started raining a bit so it was a tad chilly on the water but worth it. I was in awe of the sheer size of the structures/buildings and all the amazing detail. We saw many famous sites, including the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, and of course the Eiffel Tower! It lights up for 5 min every hour after dark.
Today we saw a few more sites, then had a free day. We did lots of shopping and had lunch in a cafe. Tonight a few members of our group are heading to the Moulin Rouge, but at $400 euros it just wasn't in our budget. Instead we will grab some food & wine and have a relaxing night! We leave for Switzerland tomorrow.
A few things I've learnt here: 1) You have to pay to use the bathrooms. Usually ranges between 35 cents to 2 euros. 2) Older locals in Paris really don't like tourists and are quite snobby. 3) There are pickpockets everywhere. We were approached by one but luckily our tour guide had told us some of their techniques so we knew better.
Go check out my photos in the Paris album. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post!
