Reaching Everest Base Camp has been a huge ambition eversince my childhood days climbing the peaks of Snowdonia and Langdale with my parents. As I approach my 40th birthday I'm determined to make this dream a reality. Aiming to depart the UK on 23 September, with the intention of reaching Everest Base Camp on 4 October - my actual 40th birthday - means I have 8 months of gruelling training and dieting to go.....but I know it will be worth it in the end.
