Arrived in Qtn to good weather and first day we rode the Skyline gondola and walked toward the saddle which is quite a challenging walk. We also did other local walks and drove to Glenorchy which is a very scenic drive. The SS Earnslaw BBQ evening cruise is well worth the cash , food was excellent and brilliant organisation. From Te Anau we took the tour to Doubtful Sound, another fabulous experience and with gorgeous blue skies. Milford Sound the next day was also enjoyable but although fine the weather was not as good. We then opted to drive further south to Invercargill which we had not done before and visit the Catlins. A visit to Queens Park in Invercargill is a must and whilst we drove to Bluff there is not a lot to do there. The Catlins are worth exploring and if using the area map make sure you call at as many off road attractions as possible . Curio Bay was once of them. From Inv we drove up the east coast via Omarou and Timeru to Christchurch. We arrived the day iof the mass shootings which was such a tragic event
